A Secret Angel
I was someone’s secret angel today
Yet I don’t know that special person’s name.
Why did I find her purse along my way?
I turned it in, would others do the same?
When she, perhaps in haste, departed the store;
She left her treasure in her shopping cart.
I parked my basket, then I parked two more.
Spying her loss I felt grief in my heart.
Are you an angel always poised to bless;
Or a devouring lion on the prowl?
The situation does not cause nobleness.
Inward values make your heart good or foul.
A demon’s soul is full of selfish greed;
Angels show love as they do each good deed.
