Poor Little Birds Empty Poor Little Birds

We see them
brightly feathered and dusky
we hear them
Chattering and mocking
We buy them
but fail them

Do we know them
of their longevity
Do we care enough for them
of their nutritional need
Do we understand
they may out live us

Poor little birds, Parrots
Parakeets, Loris, Quaker's

Poor little birds
Cockatoos, Cockatiels and Conures

Poor little birds
Plucking, sad in depression

Poor little birds
Lacking in much attention.

Poor litte birds
Locked in cages and lonely.
